Proposer(s)

• You are aged 18 years or over.
• You or anyone who lives with you have not had insurance cancelled, declined or special terms imposed, have ever been bankrupt, and do not have any criminal convictions.

Property

• Your property has never had flood damage.
• Your property is not within 400 metres of a river/watercourse.
• Your property is occupied solely by you and your family.*
• If you use your property for business purposes that you do not have more than 2 people in the premises per week or clerical business equipment greater than the value of £5000.*
• Your property is not a grade 1 or A listed building.*
• Your property is not left unoccupied for more than 30 consecutive days at any time during the year.*
• The contents are valued at less than £100,000.*
• The Re-Build Cost of your property is less than £1,000,000.*
• The property to be insured is in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Northern Ireland.*
• Your home is of standard construction, i.e. brick or stone with a slate or tiled roof, and is not a thatched or a flat roof
• Your home is in a good state of repair and will be maintained.
• Your home is self-contained with its own front door.*
• The property is free from signs of subsidence, landslip or heave (if you are applying for buildings cover).*
