Who are we?

Kwik Fit Insurance Services is an insurance intermediary, authorised & regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Our FSA registration number is 311455. Our address is 1 Masterton Way, Tannochside Business Park, Glasgow, G71 5PU.


Pet insurance policies are arranged and administered on our behalf by BDML Connect Ltd, The Connect Centre, Kingston Crescent, Portsmouth, PO2 8QL.


BDML Connect Limited is an insurance intermediary offering a range of personal insurances and has access to some of the leading insurers in the market place. Pet Insurance is underwritten by either Fortis Insurance Ltd or Axa Insurance Ltd.

Charges

In addition to premiums charged by insurers we make the following charges:

Cancellation of the policy within the first 14 days of receipt of the policy documents You may cancel the policy by writing to us. A proportionate charge for the time on risk and an administration charge of £6 will be made. If a claim has been made for the death/loss of your pet the full annual premium is payable.

Renewal

If you pay your premium by instalments your policy will automatically renew on an annual basis for your convenience. Where we have your agreement we will, when possible, renew your policy with an insurer who is more competitive. This will be confirmed by us by sending to you your renewal documents detailing the premium payable and the terms and conditions applicable for the renewed policy. If you do not wish your policy to renew, you should return to us the schedule of Insurance and cancel your direct debit or continuous credit card mandate.


Your Duty to Disclose

It is important that all information you give us verbally or in writing in proposing for, renewing or making changes to your insurance or making a claim is full and correct; and that you tell us about changes such as address etc. Failure to do so could later invalidate your policy or claims made under it, or result in an increased premium or additional terms.


Fraud Prevention and Detection

In order to prevent and detect fraud we may at any time:


    • Share information about you with other organisations and public bodies including the Police.
    • Check and/or file your details with fraud prevention agencies and databases, and if you give us false or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, we will record this.

    We and other organisations may also search these agencies and databases to:

    • Help make decisions about the provision and administration of insurance, credit and related services for you and members of your household;
    • Trace debtors or beneficiaries, recover debt, prevent fraud and to manage your accounts or insurance policies;
    • Check your identity to prevent money laundering, unless you furnish us with other satisfactory proof of identity;
    • Undertake credit searches and additional fraud searches.


    Data Protection

    For Data Protection Act purposes, Kwik-Fit Insurance is the data controller. We will hold and process your personal data for insurance administration and marketing. For this purpose, the information may also be passed to selected third parties, insurers and reinsurers, and may be processed outside the EEA.


    You understand that all personal data you supply must be accurate.


    We will discuss your policy with your spouse and make amendments (but not cancellation) if they request this on your behalf. If you would like any other person to discuss your policy or make amendments then we must have your written permission.


    Law applicable to this policy

    You and we are free to choose the law applicable to this contract but in the absence of agreement to the contrary the law of the country in which you are resident at the time of the contract will apply. If you are not resident in the United Kingdom, the law which will apply will be the law of England and Wales.


    Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

    We are members of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). If we were unable to meet our obligations, you might be entitled to compensation from the scheme, depending on the type of insurance and circumstances of any claim. Compulsory insurance, such as third party motor insurance, is covered in full. For non-compulsory insurance, such as damage to the insured car the first £2,000 of a claim or policy is protected in full and above this threshold 90% of the rest of the claim can be met.     Kwik-Fit Insurance would like to help you through your claim by making the process as easy and efficient as possible. Our claims department is staffed with qualified veterinary nurses so you can be confident that you will receive expert advice with a fast and efficient claims service.


    Here are the next steps to take in order to make a claim with Kwik-Fit Insurance.


    Have your details ready before you call

    Please have your client reference number ready - you will find this at the top of all our letters to you. Check that the claim is covered by your policy. Each section of the policy tells you what is insured and what is not insured. The cover you have requested is shown on your policy schedule.

    Personal details provided through this website will only be used by BDML Holdings Limited, Kwik-Fit Insurance and its subsidiary companies, the insurer of any policy which you may purchase through this site and the relevant insurance and claims databases in accordance with the privacy policy shown below. Please read this policy carefully; by providing your personal details to us you consent to its use in accordance with our privacy policy.

    So that Kwik-Fit Insurance Services or your insurer can administer or otherwise carry out our (or their) obligations in relation to any insurance policy you have bought through this website we need to collect and process personal information about you - including your name, home and email addresses and telephone number.


    We will ask you for this information on our web site. We also need to disclose such information to the insurers of the insurance policies available through this website so that they can decide whether to offer you insurance or not, and if so on what terms.


    Apart from this, we will not disclose any information which could identify you personally without your permission unless we are legally entitled or required to do so (for example, if required to do so by Court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime). You will be treated as having given your permission for the processing of personal information relating to you (including the disclosures) referred to in this privacy policy.


    We may share the information you give with Kwik-Fit Insurance Services Group companies and other third parties to make you aware of products and services that may be of interest to you. From time to time we may pass customer information to an external agency to carry out a customer satisfaction survey on our behalf.

    If, however, you are or have been a customer of ours then both we and the relevant insurer may continue to process data for the purpose of administrating in relation to any policy that you purchased through this website for as long as that policy is in force and for a reasonable period of time afterwards - for example, we or your insurer may be legally obliged to retain information about you even after your policy has expired.


    Information placed on your computer

    We may store some information (commonly known as a "cookie") on your computer when you look at our site. This information facilitates your use of our website and ensures that you do not need to re-enter your details every time you visit it.


    Personal information

    Information that you provide to us about you or anyone who has given you their consent to use their personal data, will be held and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. So that we or your insurer can administrate or otherwise carry out our (or their) obligations in relation to any insurance policy you have bought through this website, we need to collect and process personal information about you.     Your personal information may be transmitted to, and stored in, countries outside the EEA (for example in the case of an insurer's data centre sited abroad). Although the Data Protection Act does not apply in these countries (which in some cases may have weaker laws protecting the privacy of data) we will take all necessary steps to protect the privacy of your personal data.
